Atlanta housing market set to lead nation!
Some are calling Atlanta “the NYC of the South.” Whether you find that exciting or off-putting, there are some real reasons why NAR is putting our city at the top of their list of markets to watch in 2023.
A slowdown in the national housing market was inevitable, but even amidst this, the South is seeming to continue to rumble with the expectation for 2023 that “demand for housing continues to outpace supply” and that home prices will probably “climb by at least 5% in 2023” according to NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun.
New decorating trends for a new year
We survived the global pandemic only to meet crazy-high gas prices, a chaotic housing market, and alarming global uncertainty. No wonder that in 2023 we are bound to see a trend toward zen spaces in our homes.
Trend 1 - Eco-conscious homes: Bring in elements of nature
Kathy Kuo expects home decorating desire to swing away from synthetic materials like acrylic to more natural, organic ones that create a feeling of calmness and serenity.
The desire to create minimalism will still be intact, but it will come with earthy woods and textiles made of natural elements like wool and bamboo, as well as incorporating a sustainable design plan.

Trend 2 - Holistic design: Determine how color and light affect mood
Going right along with this nod to nature, another trend we will see is designing our spaces to consider our wellness, how the design elevates our mind and body.
People will want to discover how “Design can make them happier, healthier, and more productive in their space,” says interior designer Leslie Banker of Leslie Banker & Co.
